The terrific work that councils are doing online was the centre of attention recently at the 2013 ALGIM Online Services Symposium in Wellington. ALGIM stands for the Association of Local Government Information Managers and the symposium was held 6 and 7 May.
The Online Services Awards recognise and celebrates best practice in online services among New Zealand councils
Waikato Regional Council took out the Supreme Award, the Best Redevelopment Council Website was won by Hawke's Bay Regional Council and Hamilton City Council snatched up the prize for Best Use of Social Media in Local Government.
Prizes were also awarded for Best New Feature Website, Best Use of Intranet, the Online Project of the Year Award and the Online Services Professional Development Award.
