Welcome to Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ), the organisation that represents the national interests of councils of New Zealand. As the champion of best practice in the local government sector, we provide policy, advice and training to councils.

KnowHow, LGNZ's professional development programme, will run its first webinar next Tuesday, 22 May.
KnowHow, is partnering with SOLGM (the Society of Local Government Managers) to provide a one-and-a-half hour session on local government debt. The webinar presenters are LGNZ's governance manager, Dr Mike Reid, who's in Wellington and local government finance expert and KnowHow facilitator, Philip Jones, who's based in Tauranga. Philip and Mike will be able to take questions from participating attendees from around the country.
KnowHow's manager Anne Gibson is excited by the move into new territory. Read more.
