The Remuneration Authority is now considering a new approach to pay for elected members. This will be the second stage of their review of local government remuneration, following the implementation of the first stage (dealing with expenses and allowances) earlier this year.
Authority members have been to LGNZ zone meetings but want to provide an opportunity for a wider group – especially councillors and community board members – to be part of the discussion and to ask questions. The time for council responses to the original discussion document has been extended to December 15, 2017.
As a result of participating in this webinar, you will have:
- an overview of what the Remuneration Authority is proposing for your pay; and
- the opportunity to ask questions of the Authority, then to make an informed contribution to your council’s discussion.
