Workshop purpose

To introduce community board members to their local government role, their key support networks and start the development journey towards being an effective community representative.

By the end of this workshop you will have:

  • defined your community board role;
  • differentiated between governance and management roles;
  • planned how to build effective relationships;
  • explored positive steps to prepare for the community role of the future;
  • prepared to run an effective meeting; and
  • considered your support systems.

Each day will begin with coffee on arrival from 10am.

The workshop will begin at 10.30 am sharp and finish by 3 pm.
