Introduction

Welcome to the Local Government New Zealand  Building Consent Authority (BCA) accreditation resource kit.  This resource kit has been put together to assist councils in preparation for BCA accreditation.  The examples and contents of this website have been contributed to voluntarily by councils and other consultants working alongside councils.

Please note the content of this website is not a plug and play system.  There is no guarantee by using any of these examples, that anyone will meet the BCA accreditation requirements and it will be up to you to decide what is appropriate for your organisation.  This information is designed so you can share and compare exemplar models for the various sections of the BCA Accreditation Regulations 2006.  Have a look at the examples, decide what most closely meets your needs.

So now you have documented your systems, it is time to consider the next phase of your BCA Accreditation and ways of getting your staff to buy in and for you to fully implement the Regulations.  

Changed documents
When printing out changes to your manuals use coloured paper as a quick, visual way of showing which sections have changed.

 Tips for Internal Self Auditing   
Internal self-auditing is a useful tool to prepare yourself and your staff for IANZ’s Accreditation Assessment.  Here are some tools that you and your staff could use in an internal-audit context.
