One month to go on initial STV decisions
City, district and regional councils have one month left to make initial decisions on whether to use STV (Single Transferable Vote) at the next local government elections. A council may choose to adopt STV or a public poll may require it to be adopted. Councils will continue to use the existing First Past the Post system where STV is not supported.
