Building Consent Authority Accreditation
ACCREDITATION RESOURCE KIT
The Building Consent Authority accreditation resource kit is a collection of models, examples and information designed to assist councils in preparation for accreditation. The material has been provided by councils and consultants and will build up as material is provided.
Accreditation Requirements
By 31 March 2009 all councils must be accredited and registered as a Building Consent Authority (BCA) to issue building consents and undertake inspection and related services under the Building Act 2004.
Information about the accreditation and registration process (including forms, latest updates and the BCA preparation and self-assessment guide) is available on the DBH website.
The regulations which set the standards and criteria for accreditation became available in January 2007 and can be viewed on the government legislation website.
