New KnowHow offerings

LGNZ's KnowHow workshops cover all aspects of local government helping to meet the professional development needs of elected members.  As an elected member there are always new things to learn and opportunities to share ideas that empower and grow communities.

The learning needs of elected members are constantly growing and to keep pace with demand new KnowHow workshops are regularly developed.

Recent additions to the KnowHow professional development programme are The Secrets to Building a Good Relationship with Your CE and Economic Leadership - strategic changes, future investment.

Next month Wellington will host the inaugural workshop The secrets to building a good relationship with your ce.  The workshop on Friday 30 September will feature practical exercises and discussions covering topics such as recruitment and selection, performance measurements, maintaining good working relationships, understanding the legislative environment and key management techniques.

Economic leadership - strategic changes, future investment will debut in Wellington on Wednesday 23 November.  The workshop will look at how the economic environment in New Zealand is changing and what elected members can do to help build a successful economy.

The workshop is based on research by Berl Economics which looks at the contribution of local government to the New Zealand economy and how this contribution can be measured.
