Annual Report 2010/11
Local Government New Zealand's Annual Report 2010/11 was launched at the organisation's AGM on 13 July following conference 2011.
Together with the financial reports for the year, the annual report offers a 24-hour snapshot of a day in the life of local authorities and communities throughout New Zealand, from Dannevirke to Canterbury.
LGNZ President Lawrence Yule noted that three words summed up the previous financial year for the local government sector: consolidation, completion and realisation. LGNZ now has 100 per cent membership from local authorities and three major wins were achieved in the reporting year in the areas of freedom camping, weathertight homes and Treaty settlement principles.
From governance to infrastructure, environment to communications, the annual report sums up what LGNZ has done on behalf of its members in the year past. Now, following on from the theme of conference 2011, we're looking to the future and how we can build on these successes.
The annual report is now available online.
