2011/12 Work Programme out now
The 2011/12 Work Programme outlines the projects LGNZ will be undertaking in the year ahead on behalf of its members.
Along with our work in advocacy, environmental, infrastructure and governance areas, there are a few big items I'd like to spotlight.
LGNZ's professional development programme, KnowHow, is going from strength to strength this year with a new range of second-tier workshops coming in to build on the core training already available.
Economic development will be a major focus this year, as we promote and disseminate the framework commissioned by LGNZ and developed by BERL Economics to help councils measure the contribution they make to economic development in their areas.
Finally, communication between LGNZ and its members will be under the microscope. Our three-yearly survey of elected members will this year include some questions on how LGNZ does and should communicate with you, and what changes or improvements you'd like to see to our communications and website.
For more information check out the Work Programme.
