Community Board Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2011 Community Board Awards, showcasing the very best of the innovative, valuable work done by our community boards.
To highlight this and celebrate the fantastic winners from previous years, we've added a new set of pages here, featuring write-ups and judges' comments from the 2009 awards - and of course advice on entering for 2011!
Prizes are awarded in a range of categories, from heritage and working with children to consultation and safety - and one fantastic community board will be named the Supreme Winner, for initiating a project which is both innovative and of benefit to their community.
Some of the winners from 2009 included Bluff's restoration of bus services to Invercargill, a quartet of Manukau boards coming together to create Community Advocacy Plans, and Shirley-Papanui community board's own Hospitality Awards to encourage host responsibility.
You can read more about the past winners here.
Entries for the 2011 Community Board Awards close on 9 February 2011 and the winners will be announced at the Community and Local Board Conference in Rotorua on 5 May 2011.
More information on the award categories is available here. You can nominate as many great projects as you like so get to it!
