Elections Webpage Now Live

LGNZ is an organisation centred around councils - so the local body elections this year are a big deal for us and our members.

We've created a set of resources including a guide to help promote standing as a candidate, a series of draft media releases to get the word out in your own areas, and a page right here on the LGNZ website to help people find any other information they may need - whether about enrolling themselves or informing others.

Our partners, Local Government Online, will play a major part in the run-up to the elections and beyond with their own site, Elections2010.co.nz (launching in June), which will serve as the central portal for candidates, give people information on their local election campaigns and issues, and report back on the results as they're announced.

I encourage you to have a look and make use of these excellent resources.

LGNZ will continue to provide support and material to our members after the elections, with the Local Government Survival Kit. This will contain every bit of information a new elected member could possibly need, and we'll keep it up-to-date throughout the three-year term.
