Councils' role in waste minimisation hindered
Councils' ability to successfully carry out their role in waste minimisation has been hindered following last minute changes to the Waste Minimisation Bill, said Local Government New Zealand spokesperson Adrienne Staples.

Partnership critical to achieving transport outcomes
"We welcome the Government's Policy Statement of Transport released yesterday and reiterate to Government that this plan will only succeed with effective partnerships with local government" said Local Government New Zealand President Lawrence Yule.
