Budget 2008: More rates rises inevitable
"The lack of Government attention to local government funding and infrastructure pressures will inevitably lead to more rates raises," Local Government New Zealand's President Basil Morrison said after today's Budget announcement.

Extension practical solution for accreditation process
âAllowing an extension of the timeframe for councils to be accredited and registered as building consent authorities to 31 March 2009 is a pragmatic solution by the Governmentâ, Local Government New Zealandâs President Basil Morrison said today.
