Cabinet Announcement

Cabinet has agreed to introduce an omnibus Bill to "fix up" what are largely drafting issues caused by the Local Government Act 2002. This Bill aims to correct problems with the current legislation such as the casting vote issue and the problem with candidates not being allowed to stand for mayor and a ward councillor at the same time. NZ Local Government Toolkit for Child and Youth Participation

The toolkit was developed in response to a request from councils for a resource with practical examples and advice to help them in their planning and services for children and young people. This resource is a forum where councils can share ideas, develop best practice and encourage creative ways to involve children and young people in the decision-making process. Smoother Roads as Utility Industry Leaders Sign on to Roadshare

The Charter of Understanding is an initiative by the New Zealand Utilities Advisory Group (NZUAG). It records the commitment of key players in the gas, telecommunication, electricity, water supply and wastewater industries along with major metropolitan councils, Transit New Zealand and industry bodies to work together for the benefit of their customers, road users and communities.
