Categories

The range of categories reflects the diversity of the work community and local boards undertake.

Awards will be presented to the winners of each category, and the best overall project.

Once local boards are established we look forward to also celebrating their best practice.

The categories are:

Consultation
The judges will be looking for examples which have employed innovative approaches to consultation and/or where consultation resulted in a better policy or programme outcome.

Facilitation
In this category the judges will be looking for a board that has adopted a facilitation role to address a community problem, i.e. helped organisations to help themselves.

Harmonious Relations
Judges will be looking for projects or initiatives through which a board has promoted diversity in their communities or contributed to harmonious relationships.

Heritage
In this category, judges will be looking for a board initiative that has protected or enhanced its community's heritage (this includes all types of heritage, e.g. cultural, natural, etc.).

The Yvonne Palmer Leadership Trophy is presented to an individual whose contribution has enhanced the work and reputation of Community Boards.  The recipient will hold it for two years. Nominations can be made by anyone to acknowledge an individual whose contribution has significantly benefited Community Boards.
