Asset Management

Deeper Insight. Better Choices

As an elected member you are a steward of the council's significant investment in infrastructure. The choices you make today could impact your community for many years. The assets you protect, develop and dissolve will make a huge difference to the success of your local region.

This workshop underpins asset management theory with local government specific strategies and case studies. We use your council's LTP and related examples, to keep the focus relevant.

Key Learnings

We begin with the basics - what asset management is and why it is important to you and your community. Then we discuss how to successfully manage community assets over the long-term. Covering key topics that will help you understand your role, you will gain a clear understanding of local government infrastructure.

Topics include:

  • The LTP and asset planning
  • The concept of lifecycle management and key life cycle strategies
  • Maintenance analysis
  • Risk management
  • Growth and future demand forecasting
