Resource Management Act (RMA) - How it really works
Expand Knowledge. Enhance Decisions.
The RMA is a key piece of legislation that provides direction to local authorities on developing regional and local plans for our communities. When you have a deeper understanding of the Act, you have the tools to examine, question and make the right choices on projects.
This workshop helps you to get to grips with the RMA. Dealing with issues from public participation to integrated environmental management, we focus on the major concepts that impact local government bodies.
Key Learnings
We start by dissecting the Act and discussing its role and development. We cover how it effects different organisations and people. We also look at different planning documents, including environmental standards; and national, regional and coastal policy statements.
