Asset Management
Why is this course for you?
Being elected by your community to represent your town or city is a great privilege, but one that holds great responsibility. It's your role as an elected member to make decisions that will postively impact on your community now and for years to come.
Asset Management is a workshop-based course focused on skills for the long-term management of community infrastructure assets.
On completion of the workshop attendees will:
- improve their understanding of how infrastructure asset management can add real benefit to their Council and community
- improve their knowledge of the key concepts of asset management
- learn how to ensure that the asset decisions made by Council give the best long-term solution for the community.
The course has been designed to offer an intensive and hands-on asset management one-day course for up to 25 participants. It underpins the asset management theory with strategies and asset case studies specific to asset management in the Local Government sector.
Who should attend?
- newly elected members will gain knowledge and foresight into long-term management of community infrastructure assets
- those who are familiar and experienced in council asset management will benefit from a refresher look at best-practice asset management theory, including strategies and asset case studies.
We value a mix of new and experienced participants in small groups (maximum 25) to make best use of a diverse range of perspectives.
