As part of EquiP's Climate Change Series, this webinar will inform councils about their obligations to provide natural hazards information on LIMs, and the consequences of “getting it wrong”.   

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this webinar you will be able to:

  • outline councils’ obligations to provide information on LIMs;
  • describe practical steps that councils can take to ensure that information contained on LIMs meets statutory requirements;
  • recognise the liability consequences of failing to comply with information provision obligations, including by case study example of Kapiti Coast District Council’s LIM litigation experience; and
  • take away practical guidance on steps that your council could take to improve its LIM system.
