EquiP LP is Local Government New Zealand’s (LGNZ) commercial Centre of Excellence.  We aim to transform the local government sector by assisting LGNZ members to deliver greater value to ratepayers through collaborative sharing of best practice, professional leadership, development and enhancing organisational performance and governance.

We are looking for a commercially savvy, customer-focused and innovative Senior Consultant to manage a range of client projects across a range of business areas, with a particular focus on strategic asset leadership, maturity and usage. Flexibility to add value to our leadership development, organisational and functional review services would be advantageous.

This is an exciting role and you will play a pivotal role in building sector capability, capacity and performance adding value to our clients as the sector grapples with significant change. 

You will take ownership of the delivery of a number of consultancy services, have the opportunity to play a role in developing our future service offerings, and create additional value from our current programmes. You will work with the rest of the business in developing new offerings with a specific interest in asset maturity, and streamline our operations while ensuring we continue to exceed client expectations.

Key responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, shaping up solutions, deploying business development disciplines, delivering client solutions either directly as a recognised expert and/or working through consultants and external associates in the delivery of client projects and applying robust project management disciplines.

It goes without saying that you will develop highly productive and positive relationships with an array of key stakeholders, business partners and of course clients. Your dedication to customer service will be second to none.

To succeed in this role candidates must have:

  • well developed organisational and project management skills with demonstrated abilities to prioritise and schedule work to meet deadlines
  • excellent written, oral communication and highly develop interpersonal skills
  • confidence and experience networking across a broad range of stakeholder groups
  • experience working across and integrating business functions
  • we will consider applicants from a broad range of backgrounds, including a service delivery background in professional services, project management, or general experience in business management and operations   
  • knowledge of the local government sector would be an advantage but is not necessary; however you must have the ability to work with clients from complex, politically sensitive and multifaceted environments.
