EquiP has been appointed by the Otorohanga District Council to undertake the recruitment of their Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Otorohanga District is situated in the Waikato region, and includes the township of Otorohanga which is the ‘Kiwiana’ Capital of New Zealand. The District is home to approximately 9,500 people and contains strong rural elements, which have long been the heart and soul of the District.
The Otorohanga District Council is looking for a skilled Chief Executive Officer to lead the Council to achieve its overall strategic objectives that further support the work that is currently being undertaken and to add value to the District.
The CEO’s role is to work with the Mayor, Councillors and Senior Management to deliver value through the services that it provides.
You will proactively lead and manage the Otorohanga District Council developing a culture that delivers high quality services and head strategically important projects.
You will be a good communicator and develop strong connections with the neighbouring territorial authorities, as well as with Iwi, business, community groups and other stakeholders.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a collaborative and motivating leader with a ‘can do’ attitude and someone who is not afraid to roll their sleeves up.
The successful candidate will have a good level of knowledge of Local Government, especially with respect to the rural sector. A track record of success in a complex organisation could have been gained in a similar type of position.
